Contractor's Licenses

Contractors performing work in Little Canada must be State or City licensed. City licenses cost $50 and are good for one year from the date of issuance. A certificate of insurance is required and excavators must also provide a $5,000 surety bond.

MN State Statute 270C.72. Subdivision. 4. Licensing authority; duties requires the City of Little Canada to provide the Minnesota Commissioner of Revenue the social security number and Minnesota business tax identification number of each applicant. Work requiring a contractor's license includes:

  • Aggregate Materials Storage and Crushing
  • Cement and Masonry
  • Driveway Installation
  • Excavating
  • General Construction
  • Heating, Cooling and Gas Installation
  • Moving & Wrecking of Buildings
  • Plastering, Drywall, Lath, and Stucco
  • Roofing
  • Sign and Billboard Erecting
  • Tree Removal and Trimming
  • Well Drilling
